SDT-Xi emulators include all the performance required to bring complex embedded system designs to completion, on-time and within budget. Available in two models, the SDT-XFi and the SDT-XTi, you are sure to find one model to be the right ICE at the right price.

The SDT-Xi’s sophisticated hardware breakpoint system allows a wide range of target system bus conditions to be monitored, simplifying the task of tracking down difficult bus related problems. And if the basic hardware breakpoint system cannot resolve a problem, the SDT-XFi's advanced event detect and sequencing (EDS) system extends the power even further. The EDS adds programming style logic to the emulator’s hardware making it possible to define conditional emulator reactions to target bus conditions. For example, the trace buffer can be held in a disabled state until a complex sequence of events has taken place. The SDT-XFi’s large trace buffer allows you to capture bus cycles in real-time from where they can be analysed without even breaking target execution. Of particular importance in the trace buffer is the timestamp feature providing timing information in several formats.

Features

  • Real-time non-intrusive 0 wait-state in-circuit emulation.
  • Powerful bus based hardware breakpoint system with comparators for address, data, bus cycle and external I/O.
  • Event detect and sequencing system featuring IF event THEN action capabilities. For example "IF start of function THEN start timer running" and "IF end of function THEN stop timer running".
  • 32K by 88 bit real-time trace buffer with 32 bit 50 nanosecond timestamp.
  • Trace buffer input filtering.
  • Trace buffer can be read whilst the target continues real-time execution.
  • Overlay memory available in 256KB, 512KB, 1MB and 2MB configurations.
  • Memory addressing violations are detected and execution breaks can be initiated.
  • Execution breakpoint system supporting an unlimited number of breakpoints.
  • High speed fibre optic communications interface capable of downloading CODE into memory at speeds in excess of 60KB per second.
  • An external input signal feeds into the hardware breakpoint system, the trace buffer and the event detect and sequencing system.
  • An additional 8 external logic inputs are available.
  • Wide range of 8 and 16 bit processor support.
